I ended up filling this mini journal with the rest of these. I am working on filling up 2 more books of studies. I’m almost done with those too. I have a bit of memory drawings I’m working from to see how much of this knowledge has stuck. The studies actually spanned 2 sketchbooks, the earlier batch posted a while ago was from a white sketchbook the moleskine ones are a bit yellow but easier on the eyes. I wanted to discipline myself to study the entire book and I did.
Please, if you do get the book to study get the green one first –

The Green Life Drawing Book is a Must
I’m looking for Moleskine sketchbooks and my birthday is next month so if anyone can help out, I’ll be very grateful.

While my hand is healing I’ve been doing some George Bridgman studies. I’ve done them long time ago before but in this case I’ve been using them to learn how to have better line economy. I noticed I am getting better but still a long way to go. In this case I have to say I’m having conflicts with my scanner due to the fact I’m trying to scan in a ringed sketchbook that is very small. I’ll be switching to a Moleskin notebook sometime in the future (but I’m saving it for more of my character sketches).

The pen sketches didn’t have pencil undersketches. I just did it to improve my accuracy and stop erasing so much. I tend to take notes form sites too, so this was quick basic foot studies.

More of those ugly bus sketches. I don’t mind them, it helps me explore things without expecting something “terrific” to come out…which is all too much the reason artists have “art block” I always find something to draw I just don’t expect the same goal of something that needs to be posted.

Some were referenced but a lot came out of my head. The goal sometimes isn’t “make a cool looking character” the goal is to become more confident in drawing. Stop bad habits like hairy and unsure lines. Be more accurate. Find a new way of rendering light, form, shadow etc.. Other goals were understanding skeletal anatomy, instead of focusing purely on surface anatomy. I am posting these so I get a better look at my progress instead of turning pages.

A lined paper sketchbook… did quite a few studies on the bus on a daily basis just doodling figure studies. Done mostly in Pen. Quite a bit of failure but mostly done to become more accurate.
